Oops I Did it Again!

The last time I did a craft fair was September 2014.  You can see some pictures of the event here.  I thought I would never do another craft fair but have decided to, after being offered an opportunity to do so.

This time the event is going to be held in a hospice.  I am happy to pay the £25.00 table fee as I see it being a donation to a good cause.  The event is being held in November so I will be able to take Christmas themed items and more importantly I am allowed to sell items of jewellery that I have made whereas I wasn't allowed to at the other craft fair.

I am excited and nervous all rolled into one!  I really do hope that we have enough  buying visitors that make it all worthwhile.  This time round my stall will look completely different to the more rustic one I did before.  I am looking at using a cream table covering and using lots of lights and mirrors to give it a magical feel.  I should have enough weeks to practise!

Being that it is a hospice I am trying to be mindful of what sort of things to sell.  I want to sell joyous and uplifting things.  So far I have only made the bubble aurora bracelets using a variety of different coloured beads.  They are so pretty and full of rainbows.

Any ideas of what I could make to sell?  I look forward to your suggestions.

I'm sure your jewellery will be popular. Good luck when the time comes. I hope we get to see how you are going to display everything.

It sounds wonderful and something to plan for and look forward to. The lovely bracelets you have made should sell well as they are so pretty and sparkling with colours:)

Good luck selling your wares at the craft sale. I am sure Jewellery will be an excellent choice to sell, it always makes a lovely present. With little gift bags and Christmas cards maybe? I think greenrabbitdesigns idea of tree decorations is good one too.

Good luck with your sale Simone. I agree with the above comments about jewellery and Christmas themes, but could you try to combine them? I am always looking out for tasteful Christmas themed earrings, for instance. I think that would be popular, but fiddly to make, perhaps! And of course you make lovely gift tags, so why not Christmas ones?

Hi Simone - thank you so much for your kind commenting on my blog post. Now, craft fairs.... trouble is they are all different - what you might sell out of at one fair does nothing at the next and vice versa. Christmas is bound to be a bit easier as people are looking to buy rather than just wanting a nose round. Jewellery is bound to be popular as it makes a good gift. And yes, the others are right with cards and tags. And last Christmas I made woodburned wooden shape tree decs which sold quite well. I seem to remember zip purses/pouches were popular too and the crochet tealight jars. Time to get busy! Seems a long way off - but it isn't!!!!!

No suggestions other than lots of sparkle! How exciting Simone, and often the build up is as enjoyable as the actual day. I used to try to take something to make on the day too - helps draw people to the table . Looking forward to seeing all your lovely makes xx
