Recycling Cards

Before I recycled the Christmas cards, I found a focal point on each one and turned it into a tag for Christmas next year.

It didn't take very long and now I have a varied selection of tags to use without any added expense.  I just need to find some string or ribbon in my craft supplies to finish them off.

It was relaxing to do just using a used tag for a template, a pen and a pair of scissors.  I did it while waiting for the kettle to boil and in-between other tasks.

I just need to remember where I have stored them for next year!

  2. I have only just taken my cards down but I do like to reuse them too. I also stick some of the card fronts to envlopes and use them as a decorated money envelope for those I just give money to at Christmas.
I noticed your punch holes are very tiny what is it that you use? xx

    1. Good idea to decorate the front of money envelopes with the cards. I used a Crop-A-Dile II punch for the holes which have a choice of two sizes and an eyelet setting punch too! :)

    1. I save most of my Christmas cards from blogging friends and close family and just recycle the rest. I have kept your lovely smiley fox card. :)

  4. Good idea, I took the cards down today. We used to put them in a collection bin at M&S for the Woodland Trust but they don't do that anymore which is a shame:)

    1. Yes. Loads of shops used to take old cards to recycle but I haven't seen any locally this year! :)

  6. What a wonderful way to recycle and bring back nice memories for yourself as well. I sure understand the problem with remembering them for next year! That is why I rarely buy gifts too far ahead of time - I've done that before and forgotten all about them!

    1. Hi Bonnie! Thanks for your comment. I am sure I would forget where I put gifts too if I bought them too much ahead of time! :)
