Quick and fun to make and jolly to look at!  Earrings for Christmas or the party season.  I am on a crafting roll at the moment and can't seem to stop! 

A Non - Christmassy Post

It seems that I can't get away from Christmas at the moment and although I know it will all be over before I know it I still need respite or else be overwhelmed.

As a diversion to the season I have been learning to make flower earrings as well as learning different chain maille techniques.  I only took up chain maille 5 months ago and am making good progress.  I will share my chain maille makes on my jewellery blog at a later date.

2015 has been one of the quickest and most challenging years of my life.  The highlight of the year was getting our rotting windows replaced.  Other than that a day without arguing or feeling depressed was a bonus.

I look to the new year with hope once again, as I always do.  I have enough craft projects to keep me interested and busy.  If I could find a way to make my hobbies pay for themselves - that would be an added bonus.  I need to keep my aspirations high but realistic.

I do hope to blog again before the new year but in case I don't get an opportunity I want to wish you all:

Making and Learning

I made some earrings earlier in the week perfecting the mobius link and using up some of my darker coloured Herkimer quartz gem stones.  I tend to use making things as a distraction to other things going on in my life.  It gives me 'time out' and something else to focus on.

I 'pulled' the post on my doll collection that I posted a few days ago as I didn't think it really fitted with the rest of my blog.  I am not even sure if I should keep this post up as it is not one of my finer photographs but then again life isn't always perfect as it has been demonstrated to me this week.

The last few days have been very unsettling for many reasons that I can't go in to here.  It is all salvageable problems though and hopefully over the next few weeks life will settle back down again.

Aah, the peaks and troughs of life. 

Here's hoping that the week ahead is just a gentle plateau.

Beautiful Blue

I am still very attracted to the colour blue at the moment.  The satin cord shown on the bracelet above is such a soft and pretty shade of blue.  I did make a pretty pink one as well but Gizmo has hidden it!

 The adjustable bracelets are such fun to make using the sliding knot technique.

Although the bracelet looks huge in these photos it is actually rather delicate and the beads are only about 10mm across. 

 I have been making earrings too.  They are notoriously difficult to photograph especially outside on a windy day.  No professional set up here! 

I am holding these up whilst trying to photograph with my other hand.  Hopefully you can get a rough idea of how they look.  They are much lovelier in reality.  I am working on making some 'shoulder duster' earrings but these ones come just past the chin.  I hope you are not bored of seeing what I make but it is a great way of me cataloguing my progress or otherwise!
