This used to be a linen cupboard but crafting supplies seemed to take over and the 'linen' became a pile on my bedroom floor. The pile has now been joined with several other piles of homeless items.
Despite the chaos around me I divert my attention to other things such as the books above which I have had for ages and not yet got around to reading.
The books above are my new books that I bought over the last few weeks. I devour a new book within hours and am then looking for the next thing to do. I enjoy receiving new books immensely but am often disappointed with the content. There is never enough to keep me absorbed for long enough. Saying that I do go back to them over and over again.
I am nearly at the end of this blanket. I usually work on it during the evenings when the t.v or radio is on so I don't feel like I am just wasting time. This blanket gave me fidgety fingers! I have the dreaded task of sewing all the little ends in once I have completed a few more rows, unless I find something else to become preoccupied with such as sorting out my dilapidated hovel!!!
Gorgeous blanket!
ReplyDeleteLovely Blanket.
ReplyDeleteI know exactly what you mean by being in chaos hence the title of my blog!
lol...I know how you feel...i got that feeling this morning, blog posts take ages don't they. But my attention was all over the place and going nowhere very fast. By the time i get to this point in the day it is too late! i have given up, and are happy to sit amongst the piles....and wait till the clock tell me to put the dinner on.
ReplyDeleteI can do it all tomorrow!

This all looks and sounds very familiar ;o)
ReplyDeleteI am on first name terms with these very same problems.
Your quilt is looking scumtious by the way, the colours are wonderful xx

Hi Simone
ReplyDeleteDid you prune out the flower buds on your wisteria maybe? Wisteria produce flowers on last years growth.
Also this is a four year old plant and this is by far the best year.
Love that crochet!!
Clare
Simone, your shelves and cupboards look just like mine!!!
ReplyDeleteI am surrounded by piles of 'stuff' all over the place. The one place I manage to keep free of 'stuff' is our lounge because Hubby moves it!
I love your blanket and wish my crochet was half as neat!

Hi Fidgety Simone!! Just had to laugh...love all your books and believe me...I have plenty of unorganized areas in my home....PLENTY! I'd much rather be sewing or reading blogs or playing in the garden! Your blanket is lovely and would you believe, I am right in the middle of reading the 'Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder'...I borrowed a couple of Joanne Flukes' books from the library. I have never read her before so...we'll see...I usually get bored with fiction pretty quickly. Relax....things don't always have to be perfect...who cares!! (that's just my attitude)
ReplyDeleteAh, Simone! This all sounds too familiar!!
ReplyDeleteI have many corners and closets like this! Did you ever hear the expression "creative minds are seldom tidy."?
Perhaps we can blame it on that!
Sounds very familiar to me too - I have loads of things I should be doing but can I do any of them? I've been faffing (love that word) since the weekend and can't settle to any one thing:)
ReplyDeleteYou need an extra room for your books like I need an extra room for my POCKET-books!! (0;
ReplyDeleteOh I hate sewing ends in too Simeone. Chaos seems to be present all around here at the moment and it makes me do less and less. Arghh! x
ReplyDeleteI probably shouldn't encourage you but I just read a brilliant book called 'What was Lost' by Catherine O'Flynn. I read it an afternoon as i couldn't put it down.
ReplyDeleteSadly, my bookshelves are very similar.
ReplyDeleteHello
ReplyDeleteI have put a couple of pics of my Marley moggie up on my today's post. Thought your Gizmo might like to have a look =^.^=
How is my favourite ginger cat?

I always feel so much better for a tidy around. Housework beckons! x
ReplyDeleteYour bookshelves are just like ours Simone. With three avid readers in the house it can only get worse. My house is in chaos today but I sit here reading blogs instead of getting on doing...are you like that?
ReplyDeleteTracey
Heloooo :o)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your lovely comment and encouragement.
Wishing you a warm, happy (and hopefully sunny) weekend.

The blanket is looking good. Oh it's so nice to know that I am not the alone. I have books still to read, cupboards to sort and I have to do something with my hands like knit or crochet whilst watching tv.x
ReplyDeleteAha! A fellow book addict! :)
ReplyDeleteMy house is the same as yours, I have books oozing out of places you wouldn't imagine, as well as art supplies, material etc etc...our house is small, but somehow we live around the disorganisation and every so often we try to declutter by filling up a bag for the charity people...trouble is, Im a first class hoarder and can hardly bear to part with ANYTHING lol!
Your blanket is sublime - I love it!
Hope your weekend is fun
Love Julia xxx
Thank you for the birthday wishes Simone - you're as bad as me with all those books - I just can't get enough of them!!:0)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you have got a fab collection of books!
ReplyDeleteAnd WOW, your blanket looks amazing!
I seem to be very restless at the moment for some reason!
Love Lou xxx
I really can't stand those kind of fidgety days when you can't settle at anything for too long, I seem to be having far too many of them at the moment. I love your blanket

Simone

Hi Simone hope you are ok and not still got those fidgets.
ReplyDeleteHave a late blog visit, just off to bed now to watch Coldfeet!

We all have bad days like that - I sometimes despair at the chaos around me, but that's because every spare minute, I want to craft! Your blanket is looking amazing - lovely colours.
ReplyDeleteI know just where you are coming from with too many books.....same here.
ReplyDeleteLove the blanket.

Hi Simone
ReplyDeleteLucy at Attic 24 gives a very good tip to save sewing in all the ends (my worst job!). When you knot the 2 colours together, sort of crochet over the ends for a couple of inches as you go and then you can just snip them off. Tadah!
Your blanket's delicious Simone. That cupboard looks like many cupboards in my house. Just close the door and presto! Tidy. x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blanket! Love it! I'm the same, I like to keep my fingers busy while watching t.v. and not feel like I'm wasting precious crafting time!
ReplyDeleteLove Vanessa xxx (do you mind if i knit)
