Flowers to Cheer

No matter how depressing things get there is always something to bring cheer.  I noticed this primrose had started to flower in the garden.   It brought a moments happiness in a trying day.

Today's  Diary
  • woke up with visual disturbance after yesterday evening's migraine where I scarily lost part of my field of vision for a while.
  • bent over in kitchen to put cat bowl on floor and ripped the back of my pyjamas all the way up (I know you are laughing!)  I then realised that I had them on back to front so I have in fact ripped the front of them!
  • started to get a stomach ache and envisaged all sorts of things being wrong with me
  • went to let the hens out and noticed that one is showing all the signs of being on her way out of this World.  She has not eaten or had anything to drink all day.  She stands with her eyes closed and her body hunched.
  • opened a box of shop bought eggs.  One egg was so tightly packed in that it cracked as I tried to take it out.
  • woman at adjoining garden decided to have blazing bonfire at 2.30pm when my washing was out on the line causing me to scurry around and get my damp washing off the line before it started to smell of smoke.
Putting things into perspective, today wasn't so bad  after all.  I think because I have not had the best of weeks everyday problems get magnified out of proportion.  I just need to train myself to magnify what is good in my life so that the minutiae of life is diminished.

I hope the magnifying glass of goodness looks over you all this weekend. x

  1. I think it's true, when you're feeling low everything is a problem. You're correct to shift your focus to the good (not always easy I know).
Hope you feel much better soon and have a lovely relaxing weekend!

  3. Oh dear, sometimes when your feeling down the little things are blown up out of all proportion and Your right, the good things need to do the same. Sorry to hear about the hen, but yes I did giggle at the Pajamas!
    Sunshine always helps!

  4. I missed your birthday .... so I'm sending you belated good wishes! You need to look for a tiny positive each day ... it doesn't have to be all singing and dancing. It could just be a bird singing or a ray of sunshine!
    Have a lovely weekend!

  6. Interesting way to look at it. With the idea of a magnifying glass. I know that for me if I focus on the negative or on things that are bringing me down, I feel worse. If I focus on the good things, I feel better. I guess that's the same thing, just expressed differently. Maybe you need to find a little magnifying glass charm for your necklace to help you remind yourself.

Sending you big hugs and thoughts of Joy for your birthday!

  9. Wishing you a belated Happy Birthday, Simone. I hope you have a good year ahead and that the good times outweigh the bad. Hope you can focus on the nice bits this coming week...having a bug often seems to make people feel a bit down afterwards.
    Take care.
