Let Sleeping Pigs Lie

I have only just realised that as of 1st March I had been blogging for four years.  During this time I have had a few ups and downs and at times wondered if there was any point in blogging, as I didn't seem to attract the interest afforded to other bloggers.  Older and wiser, I now know that it isn't about the amount of comments a person receives, it is about the quality and sincerity of the comments.

Over the last couple of years I have built up a fine group of dedicated supporters.  The fact that so many of you wanted to, and did indeed, support my Bloggers Beads Necklace was confirmation that I was doing something right.  You will never really know how much that meant to me.

A few weeks back, on a whim, I deleted my Mutant Trees and my Linden Grove Kitchen blogs.  As regards to this blog I thought it better to let sleeping pigs (or dogs!) lie.  I won't be making any drastic changes here although I may start up another blog at some time on a specific topic.

Thank you for visiting me here at Linden Grove.  I know that not everyone appreciates my ponderings and when I post up my poetry (groan) I know that it will not appeal to everybody but it is one of my idiosyncrasies and something that I like to do.

I feel a creative spring coming on.  It is time to sow and grow, make and bake and take inspiration from the nature around me.  There is much to look forward to.

  2. Aren't the pigs marvellous? They are such gregarious creatures.

Four years, very well done and here's to at least another four.

Looking forward with interest to the unfurling spring.

  3. Happy 4th Bloggy Birthday! Glad to hear you're keeping on going. Some bloggers seem to get 100+ comments just for having a fart, doesn't seem fair does it, but as you say, it's the sincerity that counts, and just think of all the more replies you'd have to make if you got more comments...

I love reading your reflections, whether they are positive ones or not. As Lisa said, it's your blog, you must please yourself before other people.

  13. Yay, Simone - 4 years!! I really love your blog and would be very sad if you stopped writing it. And what's wrong with poetry? It's a talent, not an idiosyncrasy!
Keep writing, sharing wonderful photos like this one, and being yourself! You are a joy!

  15. Congratulations on four years of blogging, Simone! That is quite an achievement! You often put into words things I think, and I'm always interested in your thoughts about blogging. Sowing and growing, making and baking sound like the perfect things for the coming season! (Love the piggies, and the post title!)
    Have a happy week.

  16. Congratulations on achieving four years worth of posts! That's a lot of thought and a lot of writing!

You are so right in what you say, it is so much nicer and more meaningful to have a small circle of bloggers who visit when they can and appreciate your blog for its honest worth. You have to be true to yourself and blog about things that are important to you, as that is what makes your blog unique and reflects you as a person.

I always enjoy my visits here catching up with your musings, so thank you for sharing them!

    Have a great week Simone

    Gill xx
