Sky at Sunset

I do love a dramatic sky!  On Wednesday evening at sunset, pink and grey clouds moved in quick succession in a Northerly direction across the swathe of blue sky.  It was beautiful to watch.  Swifts were swooping over the roof tops and seagulls circled above my garden.  It was a magical moment.  A moment to savour.  It also felt quite eerie.

The sky changes constantly.  It can be bright and blue, oppressive, grey and bleak or dark and menacing and a cloud can vanish in a blink of an eye.  Skies - a metaphor for life?

  1. That is a lovely image Simone. I do so wish that the sky would stay blue for longer than five minutes...

  3. There is something about the pretty pink clouds isn't there....?
There was a very large black cloud over a boot fair we were at this afternoon, but luckily it was blowing away from the field.

  6. I love trees silhouetted against a beautiful sky, and this photo is amazing. Yes, the sky's moods change frequently, but always return to clear blue to lift our spirits - sometimes more than others!

  7. Lovely photo and lovely post.

I hope you feel better soon, Simone. I certainly understand ups and downs and how hard it is when things that are totally out of your control seem to be ganging up on you.

Having blackberries to look forward to is a good thing. My bushes are loaded with green fruits. I'm contemplating making jam. I hope we both get to enjoy loads of the juicy ripe fruit.
