Decaying Woman Decrepit House

Raw emotions put to paper after a morning stroll.

A decaying woman
In a decrepit house
Crumbling bones and crumbling walls
Dirty windows, unseeing eyes
Tarnished, unvarnished, bare and barren
Creaking, leaking, jaded, faded
A decaying woman in a decrepit house
Knock down, fall down, demolish
Dead mouse

Simone Whipp

I just wanted to add that despite the bleak tone of the poem above I feel quite upbeat in nature today!  I do sometimes bare stark emotions but please do not be alarmed.  The poem above came to me whilst I was reflecting on my health and awareness of ageing and other circumstances I find myself in.  I find it cathartic to express myself in the form of poetry.

  1. I was so happy to read the little bit under the poem Simone!
I'm glad you're feeling upbeat and if writing poetry makes you feel good then go for it!

  2. I too am glad that you added the rider beneath!

I do like the picture, I love to see anything that is old and beautiful.

  3. rusty makes three... I'd been wondering how to respond.

The sight of things shrivelling up at this time of year doesn't always help. But look at that cheery pink geranium in the midst of it all. It could continue to flower for several weeks yet..

    Lovely picture, lovely poem.

  4. You are very lucky to have the talent of being able to express yourself through poetry, such a creative way to voice emotions.
