Aquamarine

Another crystal healer painting.  The throat is said to be the main chakra for the aquamarine stone.  Aquamarine is expressive, cleansing and companionable.  It is blue, blue/green.  It is part of the Beryl family of gemstones.

She was very calming to paint.

I'm on track for completing 8 paintings by the end of the month as long as I stay focused.  I am sorry if I haven't been commenting on blogs as much as usual.  I am finding it hard to read blogs where there is a lot of information to absorb.  It is difficult for me to concentrate.

I know these paintings aren't everyone's cup of tea but I enjoy doing them.  After this set of crystal healer paintings I will move on and pick another theme.  I may stick to this style of painting or try something else!

  2. The aquamarine is my favourite gemstone - I have a gold pin with an aquamarine stone and I absolutely love it. Really interesting to read what you write about it.

    1. I've read that aquamarine was worn by ancient sailors and fishermen to be calming to them and bring good luck too!

  3. I love the colors and the peacefulness of this one. I can see how she would have been calming to paint as there is a very peaceful vibe about her.

  4. I love the way that the bottom of the painting just floats calmly away. When I had my thyroid removed I remember reading about the throat chakra and the colour - I painted a mandala that sat on my desk at work.x

    1. I don't have too much of a plan in my head when I paint these Vivien. I am glad that you see the bottom of the painting floating calmly away. Do you still have your painting of the mandala? I think your artwork is beautiful. x

    2. It was actually a ready done black and white print from a book that I photocopied and then coloured in. Over the years it stood on my desk the picture faded - I will still have it somewhere - it was a very calming design and like doing the colouring books that are around now it is relaxing colouring it in. I would actually like to try a design of my own sometime though.

  5. I always see your paintings as book illustrations or cards too. This one is a lovely colour. Like you I find it hard to concentrate on lots of words at the moment also being on the computer makes my eyes blurry:)

    1. Thanks Rosie. I am not usually a blue person but I can see the appeal of this colour. It is strange that I can't comprehend a lot of text. I have to keep on reading over and over again before I understand! I'm best with visual things and minimal reading right now. Perhaps we have got information overload?

  6. Very pretty.

I know what you mean about lack of concentration. I find it very hard to read long passage, and nothing is absorbed. I blamed last years stress for this for me.

    1. Stress would come high in your inability to concentrate Julie. You had a huge amount of stress put upon you so I am not surprised that you find it hard to read long passage. x
