Cas Card Three

This is the final CAS (Clean and Simple) card I will be showing for now.  It may be clean but it was far from simple!  The bird cage die was difficult to cut out using my die cutting machine and took many attempts of finding a card stock that would cut crisply so that all the detail could be popped out.

Here is a close up.  I left the middle section of the cage in as I didn't want to spoil another one by tearing it!

    1. Hi Sharon! Die cutting machines have been around for quite a few years now. The most recent ones are electronic but mine is an old hand turned manual machine. You purchase metals dies and place them on the machine with various thicknesses of cutting plates with your chosen paper. The handle is turned and the machine presses the die into the paper to cut it. This isn't always successful though and it takes trial and error to get a perfect cut out. It is great fun though!

  4. Beautiful card Simone. I have never used a die cutter but they look very effective. I have the same problem with those stamping out machines - my butterfly one is hit and miss depending on the type of paper or card I use.

    1. Those little punches can be so frustrating. You can release stuck paper by throwing the punch on the floor. I wouldn't recommend this though unless it is the last resort!
